The following shortwave broadcasts were heard at the listening post in Southern California, USA. The receiver is a Realistic DX-160 with a 40-ft straight wire rooftop antenna, unless otherwise noted. UTC is Universal Time with 0000 equal to 5pm PST and 8pm EST.

Fri,5/15 (1336-42) ~ Korean Central Broadcasting Station, Pyongyang, North Korea ~ 9665 ~ Korean ~ Dramatic program with music. ~ Excellent reception.
Sat,5/16 (0350-7) ~ Radio Romania International, Bucharest ~ 9640 ~ English ~ Music with announcements; interval signal; sign-off at 0357. ~ Fair reception.
Sat,5/16 (1330-57) ~ China Radio International, Beijing ~ 7205 ~ Chinese ~ Orchestral music with practically no announcements; sign-off at 1357. ~ Good to fair reception on Kaito KA-2100 with slinky antenna mounted outdoors.
Sat,5/16 (1815-30) ~ WYFR, Okeechobee, FL, USA ~ “Family Radio”: Mailbag program delivered by two males along with talk about various Family Radio activities and history. ~ Reception not as good as usual for this time of day and meter band but still fairly strong with some fading.
Sun,5/17 (0035-55) ~ Voice of Croatia, via Germany ~ 9925 ~ Croatian ~ Light classical songs by male and female soloists with announcements. ~ Good reception.
Sun,5/17 (0345-0404) ~ Voice of Croatia, via Germany ~ 9925 ~ Croatian ~ Pop and disco-type music; time signal on the hour followed by male reading the news. ~ Excellent reception.
Mon,5/18 (1319-30) ~ FEBC Radio International, Bocaue, Philippines ~ 9920 ~ Tagalog ? ~ Very pleasant vocal and instrumental music with brief announcements. ~ Good reception.
Mon,5/18 (1340-57) ~ Voice of Indonesia, Cimanggis, Java ~ 9525 ~ English ~ Polynesian songs with commentary by female announcer. ~ Speech not too clear but music was very nice; however the signal was all but obliterated at 1357 with sign-on of powerful Chinese station on same frequency. Grrr.
